For PFAS Analysis and Other Environmental Regulatory Applications

The combustion ion chromatograph system for environmental analysis applications, including PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) consists of the AQF-5000H automatic quick furnace (from Nittoseiko Analytech), which combusts samples and collects the resulting components; the IC-150 ion chromatograph, which quantifies the collected components; and the C-IC Solution software, which centrally manages both instruments. With the C-IC Solution software, analysis schedules can be created and measurement data managed via one window, which helps reduce data input and operating errors. It also includes a template compliant with EPA Method 1621, the method specified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for analyzing adsorbable organic fluorine in liquid samples. The template can be used to measure the total amount of PFAS.
The combustion ion chromatograph system now being released uses the new C-IC Solution software that improves the efficiency of analytical operations by providing a single interface for configuring analysis conditions, creating analysis schedules, checking/managing measurement results data, and other process steps. The Nexera IC ion chromatograph includes functionality for automatically diluting concentrated samples, which reduces the work involved.

The STABLO-AP DRY AIR, a desktop corona discharge ionizer specialized for dry air environments, is the world’s first ionizer specialized for dry air environments.
In recent years, with progress in carbon neutrality, battery research and manufacturing have become more active. Because moisture in the air adversely affects battery performance and safety, research, development, and manufacturing of lithium batteries and other rechargeable batteries are carried out in dry air environments. However, static electricity tends to occur in such environments, and battery performance evaluation and quality control have been hindered by the adhesion and scattering of powder samples. In dry air environments, the behavior of corona discharges is completely unlike that in standard atmospheric environments. CellTune Ver.2 Software for Supporting Optimization of Cell Culture Conditions

To achieve bioproduction that is both cost-efficient and high in quality, it is important to optimize parameters, such as the culture medium composition and culturing environment. However, the vast number of possible parameter combinations makes comprehensive optimization difficult. CellTune, software designed to support the optimization of cell culture conditions, uses statistical analysis to identify culture-medium components requiring optimization and proposes optimized conditions for the selected components. In recent years, there has been an increase in strength testing of particles with new materials and new structures used in research, such as for electric vehicles (EV) being used to achieve a carbon-neutral society. Since micro compression testing machines can evaluate materials down to the micron level, they are often used to measure electrode active materials, all-solid-state batteries, conductive particles, and electronic component spacers. Previously, operators had to visually check each particle on the sample stage, which resulted in requests for reducing the burden on operators and for increasing the number of particles that can be successively measured.
The MCT-210AD and MCT-211AD are high-end models in the MCT series of micro compression testing machines. These new models are the first in the industry able to perform “multi-point successive measurement,” which successively measures multiple particles in order of highest conformance by automatically selecting particles with the specified size from among multiple sample particles. Therefore, they can reduce labor requirements for measurement operations by reducing the time and trouble involved. The testing machines support R&D and quality control for metals, rechargeable batteries, electrode materials, and chemical products. They can detect particles scattered over a large area of the sample stage, list them in descending order of conformance to the specified particle size or other criteria, and then automatically measure them. When measurements are finished, the testing machines automatically clean off any particle debris clinging to parts.
