The GCMS-TQ8040 RX and GCMS-TQ8050 RX gas chromatograph-mass spectrometers combine industry-leading analytical performance with flexibility to meet diverse laboratory needs. The systems support simultaneous multi-component analysis, as well as highly accurate quantitative and qualitative analysis, in applications ranging from pesticide residue testing to the analysis of hazardous substances such as PFAS and dioxins. By expanding analytical capabilities and improving laboratory productivity, the GCMS-TQ RX Series helps laboratories meet increasingly demanding analytical challenges.
The GCMS-TQ RX Series is designed to integrate seamlessly with the Nexis GC-2060 gas chromatograph to manage the entire analytical workflow from sample introduction and separation to detection and data analysis. Equipped with a Multi-Mode Inlet (MMI) and Shimadzu's proprietary ion source technology, the systems provide the flexibility needed for a broad range of applications, including pesticide residue analysis in food, analysis of environmental contaminants such as dioxins and PFAS, and pharmaceutical raw material analysis. The series also delivers industry-leading sensitivity capable of detecting trace-level compounds at the femtogram level, with up to a 25% improvement in sensitivity compared to previous models. In addition, AI-powered data analysis supports functions that improve analytical quality while reducing operator workload, accelerating the digital transformation of analytical laboratories.

CellTune Ver.2 Software for Supporting Optimization of Cell Culture Conditions
To achieve bioproduction that is both cost-efficient and high in quality, it is important to optimize parameters, such as the culture medium composition and culturing environment. However, the vast number of possible parameter combinations makes comprehensive optimization difficult. CellTune, software designed to support the optimization of cell culture conditions, uses statistical analysis to identify culture-medium components requiring optimization and proposes optimized conditions for the selected components. This approach enables efficient optimization of culturing parameters regardless of operator experience or expertise level.
CellTune includes two main functions: a feature extraction module and an AI automatic optimization module. The feature extraction module can identify the components that are important for cell culturing based on statistical analysis of cell culture solution monitoring data obtained by LC-MS analysis. The AI automatic optimization module uses a sequential optimization method to efficiently explore optimal conditions for important components and environmental parameters.

MCT Series Micro Compression Testing Machine
Contributing to R&D for Carbon Neutrality and Related Fields through Micron-Level material evaluation
In recent years, there has been an increase in strength testing of particles with new materials and new structures used in research, such as for electric vehicles (EV) being used to achieve a carbon-neutral society. Since micro compression testing machines can evaluate materials down to the micron level, they are often used to measure electrode active materials, all-solid-state batteries, conductive particles, and electronic component spacers. Previously, operators had to visually check each particle on the sample stage, which resulted in requests for reducing the burden on operators and for increasing the number of particles that can be successively measured.
The MCT-210AD and MCT-211AD are high-end models in the MCT series of micro compression testing machines. These new models are the first in the industry able to perform “multi-point successive measurement,” which successively measures multiple particles in order of highest conformance by automatically selecting particles with the specified size from among multiple sample particles. Therefore, they can reduce labor requirements for measurement operations by reducing the time and trouble involved. The testing machines support R&D and quality control for metals, rechargeable batteries, electrode materials, and chemical products. They can detect particles scattered over a large area of the sample stage, list them in descending order of conformance to the specified particle size or other criteria, and then automatically measure them. When measurements are finished, the testing machines automatically clean off any particle debris clinging to parts.
